Hi all, Please be as good as you are normally for your sub today! Dear Substitute, Please text me if you need me 🙂

Block D:

If you have created your slump mold, today is a day to:

Refine Carefully like Sandra has done, Add Underglaze as neatly as Matthew did, scratch away in unique designs (SGRAFITO) like Sofia has done. Choose interesting patterns and lines that create contrast with the future white fired clay. You may also open your sketchbook and plan the other two pieces of “eat ware”. Do drawings and research of possible sgrafito patterns too.

Max: Must finish painting his “wings” and carefully refine his heart. Andres: Please refine and finish your shrine, especially the edges and the inside around the mountains, before doing anything with clay. Then refine your “face” along the edges. Putra: I removed your initials inside your bowl and placed them on the bottom, so to not interfere with your sgrafito today. The bowl that was inside the silver bowl was very thin, so please be careful with that one. NO WORK WITH WET CLAY TODAY.

Please have Irene and Marilyn be in charge of clay tools and large sink. Please have all students put all clay works back on the “clay table”. Jaime can be in charge of table tops. Sofia in charge of sketchbooks. The room must be clean for digiart class devices today. 🙂

Thanks

Block F:

Today is your final day to refine your poster designs, get them in to the shared folder, labeled correctly. Tuesday we vote! Please have your friends and peers critique you based on the Questions for SUCCESS.

Finished? Please open your sketchbooks and answer the Questions for Success on your assignment brief. (on blog or paper copy) NO you don’t need to write the questions. Now Assess yourself using the MS RUBRIC on Language of Art and Technique. What number would you give yourself and WHY!?  🙂 Please be specific.

Finished? Please choose one of the “APP A DAY” project. You can find that here on the jacobsm blog OR pinned to the back board by computer bank. Whatever one you choose, you can save it to your class folder at the end of class, so that I have a record of what you accomplished today.

Block H:  VOTING AND ASSESSMENT DAY

Please choose your favourite 3 designs from your class shared folder. Anonymously write the names on the small paper provided to you and turn them in to your substitute today. This should take about 15 minutes and you must take in to consideration the artist’s use of the C.R.A.P. Principles and their originality and professional result. Please do not share your votes with others, use your own device to view the folder and write the names of your chosen winners. Next week, you’ll vote on the other two classes as well.

Next: In your sketchbook using one piece of paper, please begin brainstorming your “Moonshot Project” This is a two week project where you create your topic and performance task, related to the world of digital art. What are your dreams, goals, or things you haven’t learned and want to learn more about?

Go to the blog and copy the Moonshot project and create a new document in your class folder. Answer the GRASPS for your Moonshot Project. This must be finished by the beginning of class next week.
